Editorial Board

Journal of Neurosurgery
Founded in 1944, the Journal of Neurosurgery has been recognized by neurosurgeons and related medical specialists worldwide for its authoritative and cutting-edge clinical articles, laboratory research papers, case reports, literature reviews, technical notes, book reviews, and more. Each successive editor-in-chief—from Louise Eisenhardt to the current editor, John A. Jane, Sr.—has played a key role in shaping a publication that stays on the cutting edge of a constantly advancing specialty. Each manuscript is reviewed by at least three of the 12 editorial board members, in addition to the Editor and occasionally one or more expert reviewers.

Journal of Neurosurgery: Spine
First published in 1999 as a quarterly supplement, this journal is now published monthly and is included in the subscription to JNS (and can be purchased independently as well).

Recent articles have addressed neutral upright sagittal spinal alignment from the occiput to the pelvis in asymptomatic adults, Intraoperative electromyography monitoring in minimally invasive transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion, Influence of cross-linked hyaluronic acid hydrogels on neurite outgrowth and recovery from spinal cord injury, rotational dislocation of the thoracolumbar spine, and diagnosis and treatment of multiple hydatid cysts at the craniovertebral junction.

Journal of Neurosurgery: Pediatrics
First published in 2004 as a quarterly supplement, this journal is now published monthly and is included in the subscription to JNS.

Recent articles have addressed a fully endoscopic expanded endonasal approach treating skull base lesions in pediatric patients, overshunting, intelligence quotient in children with meningomyeloceles, magnetic resonance imaging compared with biopsy in the diagnosis of brainstem diseases of childhood, and intraosseous infusion into the skull: potential application for the management of hydrocephalus.

Neurosurgical Focus
Covering a different topic in depth each month, this online journal has been free to the public since 1996. Enhanced by color images and video clips, each peer-reviewed issue constitutes a state-of-the-art "textbook chapter" in the field of neurosurgery. Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits are offered as well. Examples of the myriad topics addressed to date include treatment of spasticity, the neurosurgeon in sports medicine, neuroendoscopy, and the history of brain tumor surgery.
