As a resident member, you are entitled to AANS’ vast array of benefits and specific educational programs tailored exclusively for your neurosurgical development.     • AANS Academic Services Newsletter—complimentary AANS bi-annual academic program newsletter created for Department Chairman and Training Program Directors. This publication features information, benefits and services pertinent to academic programs and residents.
  • Annual Meeting-
    • Annual Meeting registration is free for neurosurgical residents in North America
    • FREE breakfast seminars & practical clinics through AANS Marshals Program at the AANS Annual Meeting. Information will be avialbale in February, 2009.
    • Complimentary resident-specific practical clinics at the AANS annual meeting. New info coming soon.
    • Top Gun Competition at the AANS Annual Meeting — A three-day competition for residents and fellows attending the AANS Annual Meeting.Visit the Annual Meeting area for news of the next competition.
  • Resident Courses
    The following courses are free to residents [includes course fees, travel and hotel accommodations]. Residents must be nominated by their program director to attend. Residents should not call the AANS to be signed up for these courses. Your program director must nominate you for the courses you wish to attend based upon pre-established course criteria. Nomination requests are sent to the program directors via email.
    • Peripheral Nerve for Residents Course (September 26-27, 2008)
    • Pediatric Review for Residents Course (October 17-18, 2008)
    • Fundamentals in Spine for Residents course (November 6-9, 2008)
    • Learn to Run Your Professional Career: A Primer for Neurosurgery Practice Management. (December 13, 2008)
